Harry Potter. It always comes back to him, one way or another.

The first time she'd met him, she'd been eleven – an innocent little girl who'd fallen in love the moment she'd laid eyes on her hero. And a hero he was. Through her adolescent years, he hadn't disappointed her once, fighting basilisks and acromantulas, saving her from Tom Riddle and ridding the wizarding world of Lord Voldemort once and for all.

She'd loved him, and had been certain of his reciprocation of that love. It had been obvious all throughout her teenage years that he'd merely been waiting – waiting for the war to be over, for her to be older so that they could be together forever. Ginny had planned their future out – they would have two children, one boy with hair as messy and Harry's, and one girl with the most perfect green eyes. And Ginny herself would be the most envied woman in the wizarding world. Life would be perfect.

It had come off as a shock when it had come out a year ago that Harry was gay. Ginny had laughed it off at first, certain that her hero had only been fooling himself – until the Boy-Who-Lived had gotten together with Draco Bloody Malfoy, of all people.

She hadn't believed the media until she'd caught the two of them kissing in a secluded balcony at the Ministry gala last year. She'd thrown herself at the blond, determined to get him to leave her Harry alone.

All it had done was get her kicked out by the Ministry guards. In that moment, Ginny had hated Draco Malfoy as much as a human being could hate another.

There was no doubt Malfoy had poisoned Harry's mind, made him unnatural. And maybe it was too late for Ginny to have her happily ever after, but now everything would be okay. Because if she couldn't have her hero, then Draco Malfoy wouldn't either. It would be her or nobody at all.

She would take care of it. It was for Harry’s own good, after all.

Eyes hard, she tipped the scentless poison she'd hidden in her ring into Harry's cup.

Finis.
