Ah, nonono, it was personally confusing because Zhou Mi's thoughts seemed so much more modern than 1927, so when I reached that point, I had to reread the previous parts in the right mindset (read: timeframe) to fully comprehend what was going on x3 That's all.
I suppose it was just Zhou Mi going to a different country (where he probably didn't know the language yet, my mind supplies) just to become a singer seems like such a modern idea. It's missing the how's and why's, you could say. But it's really not necessary for this style x] My brain just didn't function properly enough to put two and two together until the actual mention of a timeframe.
