Title: Crawling Towards The Sun
Author:
papered
Fandom: Twilight
Characters/Pairing: Edward, Bella
Rating: G
Word Count: 205 words
Disclaimer: Unfortunately, not mine.
Summary: Edward Cullen has never quite hated anyone as much as he hated Bella Swan that first time he saw her.
Notes: My very first Twilight fic, written for the prompt, "ruin" (table Gamma, prompt #008), at
twilight20. Thank you so much to
spadul for all of her help.
It's the colour of her skin when I first laid eyes on her, pale and yet flushed with the crimson red that calls to me so strongly. Her blush brought the blood closer to the surface of her skin, the fragrance teasing me the way a three-course meal lures a starving man. My fists clenched in a desperate attempt to ignore her, but her alluring smell has more of an effect on me than anything else in the last century. I was torn. I swore to myself that I would never again drink human blood, but this girl has managed to ensnare my senses with her mere presence. I find myself captured, perhaps hopeless to resist.
Afterwards, there is nothing I can do but run, out of the room and down the corridor until finally the fresh air is upon me again. The wind fills my nostrils, temporarily wiping away all traces of that delicious fragrance, but the memory remains, of blood so potent that it erased all traces of rational thought. So many years of rigid control, of denying my instincts, all gone down the drain because of this mere human.
This girl will be the ruin of me. Of that, I am sure.
Finis.

Annnyway, this was so pretty! I love how you can write pretty stuff like this. As you know from my YED fics, I usually only know how to write something reallllly prettily only to have the YED tear it apart in the next line. *rofl* But I really liked the bittersweet-ness of this! Really lovely for your first Twilight fic. I should get through Eclipse so that I can try my hand at some of this, too! :D

Actually, while I was writing this, I did suddenly think of your YED fics, rofl. But I can't quite pull of the creepy-pretty you manage to do, so I just have to stick with the bittersweet part. I'm really glad you liked this! ♥
