"Can you hear them? What are they doing?"
"Ow, George, get off me. Your elbow's in my stomach."
"Shh, be quiet! They'll hear us if we get any louder."
Harry couldn't suppress a grin at the racket they were making as everyone tried to argue and keep quiet at the same time. Currently, Ron, Ginny, the twins, and himself were pressed against the wall, peering into the keyhole of the room Draco and Hermione had locked themselves into. Even with the twin's newly created Keyhole Expansion Balloon, it was still rather difficult for all of them to have a good view.
Beside him, Ron whimpered. "I can't believe we're waiting for Draco Malfoy of all people to propose to Hermione. Shouldn't we be trying to stop them?"
Before Harry could say a word in response, Ginny viciously stomped on her brother's toes, making Ron give a strangled yelp. "Oh, for Merlin's sake, grow up, Ron! He loves her and she loves him - they're perfect for each other!"
"I think he's telling her now!"
There was some shuffling, and Ginny's grip was cutting off his blood flow, but Harry barely noticed. Inside the room, Draco had just dropped to one knee, a bouquet of roses in one hand and a navy box held in the other.
Hermione's hand flew to her heart - Harry's to Ginny's mouth to prevent her squeal from emerging.
"Aww, ickle Draco's all grown up. And our Hermione too." Fred sniffed dramatically, and George joined in.
Ginny promptly whacked them both on the head.
"She accepted!" came Ron's muffled cry, and they all immediately fell silent.
And so Hermione had - Draco was placing the engagement ring on her fourth finger, an uncharacteristic smile on his face. The sapphire ring shone brightly in the firelight, and although they were standing too far away to see clearly, Harry knew that the central jewel was surrounded by two dozen tiny diamonds - one for every month the two of them had been together.
And then, as they watched, the blond leaned over and pulled Hermione into a kiss. With tongue and all.
The twins 'awww'ed in unison. Ginny was mumbling something about "cute" and "completely sweet" and "utterly romantic".
Without hesitation, Hermione pulled Draco even closer, wrapping her arms around the blond's neck, and Harry winced. As happy as he was that things had gone well, there were some details he'd rather not know about.
Beside him, Ron groaned. His face looked distinctly green. "Urg, someone get me a fork so I can stab my eyes out. And a bucket. I think I'm going to puke."
A pause.
"OW, GINNY. BLOODY HELL, STOP HITTING ME, IT HURTS."
There was a sudden silence from within the room.
Two seconds later, when one Draco Malfoy pulled open the door, he was greeted with the sight of five sheepish grins.

Very nice.
I liked the imagery of the ring, and the fact that Draco went through with the proposal even with the out side commentary. ^_^

Thank you! To be honest, I've only read bits and pieces of Pride and Prejudice, so I'm not sure which part you're talking about - but now I want to go and read the whole thing. :)
