Title: how to glue together the pieces of your heart
Author: [livejournal.com profile] papered
Fandom: Super Junior
Characters/Pairings: Sungmin, Kyumin, Kyumi
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Summary: Sungmin's always been good at hanging on.
Notes: Written for round 01 challenge 01 of [livejournal.com profile] seouldout, for the prompt "sand".

Kyuhyun is young and bright and idealistic, and so Sungmin clings to him – clings on and doesn’t let go. But it’s like grasping at sand from a broken hourglass, and grains are already slipping through cracks he can’t quite seal. There are interviews, and Kyuhyun and Zhoumi seem so close, and still, Sungmin holds on. (tells himself it doesn’t hurt)

Kyuhyun comes back, full of smiles, but not a single one for him. When Sungmin finally opens his palms, he realizes there’s nothing left, not even the last trickles of sand. He’d been holding on to nothing all this time.

I liked the imagery of Sungmin holding on to sand trickling through his fingers.

Oh... it was so sad... for Sungmin to cling on tightly to something that's already slipped loose from his grasp...
You wrote it really well! ♥
