Summary: It's ironic that Kurogane should miss what he'd always thought to be annoying. But he does.
Notes: My first fanfic in the Tsubasa-verse, written on impulse after finishing all of the available manga.


"Good night, Kurogane."

He's not one to be bothered by trivial things, but the sound of his full name sounds so wrong on the blond's lips. It's been a week since Fay had become a vampire, and yet he still cannot get used to that distant tone, or that unfamiliar lack of warmth in the Mage's expression.

That old smile remains on curved lips, but it's different. Kurogane had always known that that forever gentle and charming exterior could be nothing more than a mask, but now, even that gentleness had fallen away, leaving nothing but a bare shadow who pretended to smile.

He grasps at a thin wrist as the other walks by. Inquiring eyes turn to him, but Kurogane can't find the words to express what he wants to say. His hand drops instead, and he turns to give the blond room to walk past him.

"Good night."

Kurogane/Fay is my top Tsubasa pairing too. And they both broke my heart so many times while I was reading. *-*
